Terminate rental agreement

How do I cancel my rent?

You cancel the lease in writing within the notice period. Your contract states how long it is. Usually at least 1 month before you move. You will receive confirmation of cancellation from us within 24 hours on weekdays. It states the date on which the lease will end. We will then make an appointment for an inspection of the property and the handing over of the keys.

If we find a candidate tenant, he will be given the opportunity to view the property. Our broker will contact you to make a viewing appointment. This also offers you the option of transferring things to the new tenant.

At the end of the last month's rent, the house should be left completely vacated, undamaged and clean. If this is not the case, part of the deposit may be retained. At the bottom of this page you will find a checklist of delivery.

The deposit will be transferred in full within 30 days unless the property has not been left properly. You will be informed of this in time. The settlement of the service and heating costs (if applicable) can take longer as we depend on the data provided to us by the VvE, this can take up to a year in extreme cases.

Checklist delivery

At the end of the last month, the house will be completely vacated, undamaged and clean, including any storage room, balcony, crawl space, shed, garage, parking space, back and/or front garden. The condition of the property will be compared with the check in report. If there are any questions regarding the delivery of the house, please contact us.

With regard to cleaning:

  • built-in appliances (oven, dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, freezer, etc.) are undamaged, clean, free of grease and function properly

  • extractor hood and hob are clean, grease-free and function well

  • All cupboards left empty and clean

  • Sanitary clean, lime-free, mold-free and unblocked, including shower walls

  • Drains of washbasin, sink, toilet and the like are clean and unblocked.

  • Waste containers empty and clean

Ventilation and central heating:

  • Mechanical ventilation grilles and filters are clean, free of grease and functioning.

  • Leave user instructions, filling hose, filling key and vent key at the boiler   

  • In connection with, among other things, the risk of frostbite in the winter months, it is requested that the central heating system be switched on in case of early departure (thermostat at 15°C).

Changes made and damage to the house must be repaired by you:

  • Floors, walls and ceilings are delivered in the same condition as obtained

  • Nicotine and mold deposits must first be properly cleaned

  • Nails, screws, plugs and the like have been removed and holes have been neatly closed

  • Applied stickers, adhesive mirrors and the like have been removed and damage has been repaired

  • All switchgear and sockets are undamaged, clean and functioning.

  • Self-installed cords and cables have been removed

  • All locks function and

  • Windows are undamaged
